Thinking of moving South Finally….from the Northeast? Good idea!

OK. Spring’s coming next week, but the weather up north this year has been brutal.

More than three major snowstorms like you had this winter would be enough to get me packing! South Florida has enjoyed a cooler “winter” with temperatures in the 70s, dipping into the 60s and even 50s at night — but no one is complaining.

While it’s Spring Break season here, you see thousands of young people enjoying the beautiful blue skies and crisp air sunny always and now later after Daylight Savings Time.

It doesn’t get dark now until almost 8 p.m. and it continues to progressively stay sunny as the summer unwinds.

There is so much to do if you’re not interested in going to the beach, including visits to the Miami Zoo, the museums (including the new Frost Science Museum with its new Planetarium, the Children’s Museum), theme parks like Jungle Miami, art at the Bass Museum, Wynwood and the Design District, the Jewish Museum, and the tons of restaurants for people-watching and fine dining.

The hotels are amazing in Miami Beach, including the legendary Ted Lapidus distinctive and renowned Fontainebleau Hotel, the newer and glamorous Faena Hotel (and district, including a Museum of Ice Cream), the renovated Eden Roc that is adjoined by the Nobu hotel, Ritz Carlton, Loew’s Hotel, the Confidante and many small and beautiful boutique hotels throughout from South Beach going up north as far as Hollywood.

A good idea may be to rent before you buy in town, allowing you to check out whether you want to live near work in Miami proper, or on the Beach in Miami Beach, South Beach, the new “hot” neighborhood of Edgewater with new buildings like Aria on the bay and Missoni Baia, or in the mid Beach area, with beautiful condos like the Faena, Mosaic, Caribbean, Bath Club and the Blue and Green Diamonds.

Whatever your budget, there are properties for snow birds or permanent dwellers looking to make a life change and enjoy sunny days all year round. Don’t put off visiting Miami to explore its offerings. You may never want to go back north.

If you want to strategize on how to make a move south work for you, give me a call! I offer a free 1/2 hour consultation and would love to be your agent!

EWM/Christie’s ranked #1 for the third year in a row for sales in Miami/Dade.
